What is a yacht survey and what is it for?
A survey is an independent inspection that sets out a boat’s present condition in measurable terms. Its purpose is not to find a flawless boat but to establish, before the decision, which defects exist, which are urgent and what they will cost.
Why it works this way
The output is a record rather than an opinion: findings documented with measured values and photographs. That is what allows it to be used in a negotiation, with an insurer or in a dispute.
