How long does a yacht survey take?
On a boat of around 40 ft, field work including the yard inspection and sea trial takes about 1.5 working days, extending to 2-3 days on larger boats. The written report is delivered the same day the field work ends.
Why it works this way
Length sets the baseline, but access matters as much: a cramped engine room, a sole that has to come up or a hatch that will not open adds hours another boat of the same length would not.
