How is osmosis repaired on a GRP hull and what does it cost?
Cost is decided by depth, not by the number of blisters. Confined to the gelcoat it is surface work; once it reaches the laminate the gelcoat is peeled, the hull is dried for months and an epoxy barrier is applied — the difference between the two runs into multiples.
Why it works this way
Skipping the drying stage is what makes a repair come back within a couple of seasons. This is why extent, depth and moisture distribution are measured before any repair decision rather than after.
