Do you also survey wooden and steel boats?
Yes. In timber the focus is rot, corrosion in fastenings and caulking condition; in steel and aluminium it is ultrasonic thickness measurement and a corrosion map. The method changes with the material; the scope does not.
Why it works this way
A moisture map in GRP and a thickness map in steel do the same job: turning what the eye cannot see into numbers that can be compared, priced and measured again later.
