Which refit work adds value, and which does not?
Work that adds value is work that reduces a buyer’s risk: engine rebuild, rig replacement, rewiring and plumbing, osmosis repair. Work that does not is a matter of taste — upholstery, colour, choice of electronics brand.
Why it works this way
A valuation states this distinction explicitly, so you can see from the report which spend converted into value and which did not.
