What should you check when buying a RIB?
A RIB is two products: the tubes and the engine. On the tubes look for seam separation, pressure loss and UV fatigue; the outboard keeps its own record, and a diagnostic tool reads running hours, their distribution across rev bands and fault history.
Why it works this way
Lifting eyes and the hull bottom are inspected separately for rubbing damage from going alongside rocks — the most common damage on a tender and the easiest to overlook.
