What matters when planning a delivery route?
The route is built around the spacing of safe harbours rather than the boat’s speed. Fuel and water stops, whether night passage is required and alternative harbours all go into the plan from the beginning.
Why it works this way
A good plan is the one that makes the unexpected cheap — which is a different objective from making the passage short.
