What checks should be done before a long delivery?
A short list, but a non-negotiable one: engine and cooling circuit, fuel line and filters, bilge pumps and alarm, fire equipment, navigation electronics and communications, ground tackle. The engine’s ECU record is read at the same time.
Why it works this way
Testing these alongside costs almost nothing next to a repair carried out at sea — which is the comparison worth making before departure.
