GRP, timber or steel?
The material sets the maintenance pattern: moisture and osmosis in GRP, rot and caulking in timber, corrosion and thickness loss in steel and aluminium. None is absolutely superior to the others.
Why it works this way
What decides is which maintenance routine you can realistically keep up. The survey method changes with the material; the scope does not.
