Who pays the broker’s commission and how is it set?
Commission is usually taken from the seller as a percentage of the sale price, which means the broker sits on the seller’s side of the table.
Why it works this way
For a buyer the important thing is knowing that — including that a surveyor recommended by the broker may be looking the same way. Choosing an independent surveyor is the buyer’s simplest protection.
