What does an EU flag and VAT-paid status give a buyer?
It means the boat can be used freely in European waters; once that status is lost, regaining it is expensive.

This makes the completeness of the paperwork as valuable as the boat’s physical condition. Both registry and VAT documents should be verified before purchase.
